Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. She has performed on Broadway, in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by playing the piano and singing at church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The first song to feature her voice was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12; since then it has been remixed and a part of her repertoire. She has also contributed her singing to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
